New Delhi, Aug. 31 (ANI): In wake of the ongoing anti-government protests in Islamabad, senior Congress leader and former external affairs minister Salman Khurshid on Sunday hoped that there is peace and democracy remains in force in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy feared that Pakistan could emerge as a strong theocratic state. I think Pakistan will emerge as a strong theocratic state-it is already an Islamic state. Former diplomat Naresh Chandra on his part said that the crisis would considerably weaken the Pakistani government.
