Shimla, Sep 1 (IANS) To generate interest among the schoolchildren ahead of the India-West Indies ODI slated for Oct 20 in Dharamsala, the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) would organise a month-long quiz contest, it was announced here Monday. The quiz, which will be open to the students across the state in the age group of 14-16, will be based on cricket, HPCA press secretary Mohit Sood told IANS. “It’s an initiative to celebrate the game of cricket and to expose the young minds to the history of cricket in Himachal Pradesh,” he said. BJP MP and HPCA president Anurag Thakur said: “This will be the second international match to be held at the Dharamsala stadium and we at HPCA are delighted and would like to involve the young kids in this prestigious match.” Sood said the winners of the quiz would get an opportunity to interact with the players and witness the match Oct 20 at the HPCA’s ground in Dharamsala, some 250 km from the state capital.
