Lucknow, July 27 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Gaurav Bhatia, on Sunday attacked the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for what he alleged ‘ behaving irresponsibly’ in Uttar Pradesh and gave a veiled warning about the state government getting tough to deal with those leaders who incite violence. Commenting on the Saharanpur violence, Bhatia told ANI,”The unfortunate part here is that public servants, like the MPs and MLAs, who are expected to behave in a responsible manner are trying their best to communalise the atmosphere here in UP.

Patna, July 27 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain said here on Sunday that the next Chief Minister (CM) of Bihar will be from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “There is no doubt that the next CM of Bihar will be from the BJP,” said Shahnawaz Hussain while addressing a press conference in Patna, his first ever in the city after Lok Sabha elections 2014.

Kathmandu, July 27 (IANS) A parliamentary panel in Nepal Sunday asked the government to sign as soon as possible a “Power Trade Agreement” (PTA) with India under which New Delhi has proposed 100 percent Indian investment or joint ventures with Indian entities in the Himalayan country’s power sector. Both sides held marathon negotiations during the weekend visit here of India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to firm up a deal. “Large-scale investment is inevitable in the energy sector but investment will become uncertain in the absence of a power trade agreement. As a result, a PTA is necessary with India,” read a statement on the committee’s decision.

Kathmandu, July 27 (IANS) External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Sunday averted a diplomatic disaster by meeting leaders of the ruling CPN-UML just before returning to India after a three-day visit which she said was “productive” and “successful”. The hour-long meeting between Sushma Swaraj and the CPN-UML party took place at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu where eight party leaders led by Deputy Prime Minister Bam Dev Gautam were present. CPN-UML leaders later said the Indian side blamed “miscommunication” as the reason Sushma Swaraj — the senior most Indian leader to visit Nepal after Narendra Modi became the prime minister — didn’t meet them Saturday and apologized for it.
