Ashok Amritraj's 'Chance of a Lifetime' to air on DD

TV show “Chance of a Lifetime”, being hosted by Hollywood-based Indian producer Ashok Amritraj, will go on air Aug 19 on Doordarshan (DD).

The eight episode TV series has been made in collaboration with the United Nations. To be aired at 10.30 p.m., it will see some major Hollywood stars like George Clooney promoting humanitarian causes.

“It’s been such a wonderful experience working with my friends at the United Nations and watching these young filmmakers from diverse cultures forge partnerships to create socially relevant documentaries,” Amritraj said in a statement.

Aparna Sen appears for questioning in Saradha scam

Famed actor-director Aparna Sen Monday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the multi-crore-rupee Saradha chit fund scam.

Sen, who was the editor of a magazine brought out by the group, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate office here after being summoned by the agency which is probing the scam.

She was accompanied by her husband Kalyan Roy.

Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Textile Minister Shyamapada Mukherjee is also slated to appear before the agency for questioning during the day.

America’s cartoon cat Garfield gets TV makeover in Indonesia

Infinite Studios started in 1997 as a film post-production company with 13 people. In part building on the success of Garfield, it has diversified into creating its own content production as well as animation and visual effects, with facilities that employ 200 people in Indonesia and Singapore. Southeast Asia has been emerging as a film production centre, with an expanding local workforce and growing exports to the region or even to the traditional creative powerhouses like the United States and Europe.

‘Happy New Year’ teams’ early new year celebration!

With the regular update of year’s biggest film ‘Happy New Year‘, here is the deep insight of its trailer launch at the grand event titled as “Indiawaale” at the Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai.

“Indiawale” event marked the launch of larger than life trailer of ‘Happy New Year‘ with entertaining dance and music performances followed by a fashion show.

Music directors Shekhar Ravjiani and Vishal Dadlani performed on the exclusive song of “Indiawaale”, the theme on which the film is based. This was followed by a vibrant fashion show organised by Manish Malhotra, where the entire ‘Happy New Year‘ team walked the ramp. And then finally, the majestic trailer was launched by the huge star cast of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and the director Farah Khan.

Providing the root fact, Farah stated ‘Happy New Year‘ has everything that it takes to make a quintessential masala Bollywood film, but most important element of the film is hope. Even if a person loses everything, he must never let hope bring him down. SRK gave his inputs by dedicating the film to losers and declared the film as happy as its title.

Filled with dance, music and glamour ‘Happy New Year‘ will hit the theatres this Diwali on October 23.

Salman Khan to essay a King in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’

Salman Khan is going to play the mighty role of a King in Sooraj Barjatya‘s next film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo‘. This film holds special attribute because he will be seen in “Judwa” avatar, one is of a golden hearted King called Ratan, who owns a fantasy kingdom and the other one is his identical twin brother called Prem, who is a common man residing miles away.

Sonam Kapoor is playing the princess, opposite Salman’s King Ratan character. The filming process has already begun at the ND Studio in Karjat, where a magnificent periodic stage is constructed for ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo‘. While everything is usually good in most of the Barjatya’s film, this time he has introduced a negative character of a vengeful King played by Neil Nitin Mukesh who will come across as King Ratan’s step-brother.
