Delhi, Aug.10 (ANI): Speculation is rife over the identity of this year’s Bharat Ratna awardees, even as the government ordered 5 medallions from the RBI Mint. Two names which have been discussed the most frequently are those of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and of senior BJP leader Atal Behari Vajpayee. This year’s winner, Sachin Tendulkar, continues to garner controversy as politicians question his selection over hockey legend Major Dhyanchand. Rahul Mehra, spokesperson for AAP said to ANI, “I am not saying that Sachin Tendulkar did not deserve it but I think major Dhyanchand should have been the first sportsperson to receive this award.” Agreeing, CPI leader pondered, “If cricket through Sachin Tendulkar can be honoured why has the national game of India, namely hockey, not been honoured yet?” Mehra also wondered if, by presentating the Bharat Ratna to multiple people in the same year, the honour of the award was being devalued.

Patna, Aug. 10 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actor Shatrughan Sinha today said that he will always remain with the party and will represent the same while contesting elections in Bihar. Reacting over the recent RJD-JDU and Congress alliance in the state Sinha said,” I would not like to give any political comment on today’s occasion as today is rakshabandhan and I don’t mix two things at one time.

New Delhi, Aug. 10 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that the relations between India and Pakistan became better after Narendra Modi took oath as the new prime minister of India. “The relations between both the countries weren’t good earlier but the ice was broken right after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister,” said Naqvi. If Pakistan honestly thinks in this direction, then there is no problem in that. Yesterday, Sharif said that he regretted the fact that Pakistan was having bad relations with India and said it was time the two had good relations.

Patna, Aug. 10 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today said that the RJD-JD (U)-Congress alliance in the state was being put together after a lot of consideration to protect the secular fabric of the country. His remarks have come after BJP president Amit Shah yesterday said that former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s hunger for power convinced him to break ties with the BJP and align with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav. “Just for the sake of power, Nitish went and sat in Lalu Prasad Yadav’s lap”, Shah had said at the BJP’s National Council meeting in the capital on Saturday.
