TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Menahem Golan, a veteran Israeli filmmaker who built an empire on the back of brawny men beating others senseless across a host of 1980s action films, has died in Tel Aviv. He was 85.

First Day Box-Office Collection of ‘Entertainment’

Yesterday audience was treated with a quirky dish of ‘Entertainment‘ starring Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia which failed to entertain the critics, but lets see how well it served at the box-office.

Entertainment‘ was screened in 2,800 screens in India. It geared with a slow start in the morning shows, with just 25% occupancy at the theatres. But the occupancy witnessed a hike from afternoon to evening show and then from evening to the last night show. Thus, ‘Entertainment‘ made the business of Rupees 9.25 Crores at the box-office on the first day of its release.

As compared to rest of the country, ‘Entertainment‘ did a good business in North and Central India with majority of its audience being the youngsters. Also, the theaters had the tiny footfalls of kids who specially came to enjoy the golden retriever- Entertainment.

Jointly produced by Tips Films and Pen Film Banner, ‘Entertainment‘ was brought within the budget of Rupees 85 Crores inclusive of the promotion cost.

Arjun Kapoor wishes to act in a patriotic film

With the arriving Independence Day, a sudden patriotic urge has emerged in Arjun Kapoor‘s mind. Recently the actor, who has experimented with romance and thriller genre with the films like ‘2 States‘ and ‘Gunday‘, respectively, expressed his desire to work in a patriotic film on a social networking site Twitter.

Arjun posted, “Felt this sudden urge yesterday to do a film with patriotic undertones… strange how a simple national anthem can get your adrenaline pumping”.

Permanent pack-up for ‘Happy New Year’ stars

Today director Farah Khan will announce the final pack up to ‘Happy New Year‘ team as the film has completed its entire shooting schedule. Therefore, it’s a permanent pack-up.

It seems that the entire star cast had a blissful experience during the shoots and they are badly going to miss this time as Sonu Sood took Twitter to express his distress. He posted- “We r sad not bec (because) our director @The FarahKhan is yet again 1 hr late but bec it’s d last day of #HNY shoot @bomanirani.”

We do understand his emotions, but soon the entire cast is going to reunite at “SLAM! THE TOUR” to promote ‘Happy New Year‘ across the globe.
