New Delhi, Aug. 2 (ANI): A protest was staged outside the residence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh by members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) over the ongoing UPSC row here on Saturday. Mohit Sharma, a protester, belonging to the NSUI, told ANI, “Common students are not being allowed to protest. Students are demanding changes in the CSAT and want the exam date to be postponed from August 24.” “We have a right to protest, we are the citizens of this nation,” he added. Govt. plans to table insurance bill in Parliament on Monday, opposition for select committee vetting

New Delhi, Aug.2 (ANI): The NDA Government plans to table the Insurance Laws (Amendment) Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, even as several opposition parties have indicated that they will move a motion in the Upper House of the Parliament to refer the Bill to a Select Committee. The proposed Bill seeks to raise the ceiling of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the insurance sector from 26 percent at present to 49 percent. The Bill has already been scrutinised by a Standing Committee. Among the political parties planning to move the motion to have the Bill referred to a Select Committee are the Congress, CPI(M), CPI, SP, BSP, DMK, JD(U), Trinamool Congress and the RJD.

Lionsgate to file lawsuit over ‘ The Expendables3’ leak

Washington, Aug 2 (ANI): Lionsgate is suing the anonymous individuals who leaked the advance copy of ‘The Expendables 3’ online, it has been revealed. According to the Hollywood Reporter, a digital file containing a high-quality reproduction of the film had been stolen and uploaded to the Internet. According to the reports, the leaked movie has crossed more than a million downloads already and all of the copies circulating online were said in the lawsuit to be traced to the original stolen digital file.

The U.S. Congress approved $225 million in emergency funding for Israel’s “Iron Dome” missile defense system on Friday, sending the measure to President Barack Obama to be signed into law. The House of Representatives approved the funding by a 395-8 vote late on Friday, several hours after the Senate passed it unanimously. The money would be used to replenish Israel’s arsenal of Iron Dome interceptor missiles, many of which have been used to shoot down short-range rockets fired from Gaza into populated areas of Israel in the current three-week-long conflict. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether Obama would sign the legislation.
