Javed Akhtar clocks 50 years since stepping into Mumbai

It was on this day 50 years ago that Javed Akhtar had stepped foot in Mumbai from Gwalior to pursue his creative dreams.

The now acclaimed lyricist and writer recently participated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’ on Gandhi Jayanti Thursday at the Mumbai Central station to sweep the platforms.

Speaking of the experience, Javed said: “It is always a pleasure to be part of any campaign for a better nation. And Narendra Modiji‘s ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’ was definitely a wonderful idea. I happily supported it.”

Charlie Sheen sued for sexual assault

Actor Charlie Sheen has been sued for sexual assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress by his dental technician Margarita Palestino.
The technician has claimed that the “Anger Management” star jumped out of the dental chair, pulled his nitrous oxide mask off and grabbed her breast.

The lawsuit stems from an alleged incident during an appointment Sep 25. The complaint was filed Friday at the LA County Superior Court by Palestino’s attorneys, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

50 crore for Bang Bang; Haider behind at 11.50 crore

The box-office threw no major surprises this week. Bang Bang running approximately on 4,500 screens was always slated to rule the roost. The movie opened to a bumper response aided superbly by the five day holiday weekend. In just a span of two days, the movie grossed 50 crore ( 27.54 crore on it’s opening day and 24.08 crore yesterday) making it one of the top five openers of 2014.

On the other hand, Haider chugged at a turtle’s pace collecting about 11.50 crore.
