Karnal (Haryana), Oct. 4 (ANI): Addressing his first rally in Karnal ahead of the Haryana Assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday appealed for a Congress-free state and a clear majority for the BJP.
On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged for Swachh India campaign. He made the cult movement by stepping out with a broom in his hand to clean the filthy streets of India and then nominated few celebrities to take part in the campaign by supporting it. Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kamal Haasan were amongst those nine celebs whom PM had personally appointed.
Priyanka accepted the appeal and posted her picture while cleaning the street with a caption “I humbly accept respected Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s challenge. This is an idea that is long overdue. There is no time like the present to begin the journey towards change. Recognise that we r doing this for ourselves. If we don’t get involved & support this campaign, nothing can happen. But if we come together we can make a difference. Every action we take will be important. I want to make the change. I want a clean India. It’s time to clean up our act.”
Salman Khan tweeted “Me & my Foundation accept the invite from our honourable Prime Minister for Swachh Bharat and will give our 100% for My Clean India.”
Even Kamal Haasan has accepted the nomination and will continue to work for environment.

Salman Khan has gifted a new life to filmmaker Anand Balraj, who was lying languish in South Mumbai’s hospital with mounting bills.
Few months back, Anand met with an accident at Marine Drive when a taxi rammed into him, while he was getting out of his car. This made both his knees ineffective and then run in debt of mounting hospital bills. When Aditya Pancholi casually called him, he learned about his declining condition and decided to pay the bills.
During a conversation, Aditya informed Salman about Anand’s accident. On listening his friend’s dilemma, Salman immediately lent his helping hand forward financing his major surgery and has also appointed a physiotherapist for him. With this Anand’s health is now on recovering term and he is able to walk again.
