Film maker-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra Friday said Indian film-makers need to watch world cinema to grow or else the industry will keep making stupid movies.

“I come from a small village in Kashmir and I have seen only Hindi movies. Unless we see world cinema how will we grow? If we don’t watch world cinema we will keep making stupid films. Today I met two to three film makers and I felt great that people take out time and come here to watch movies,” Chopra told reporters at the 16th MAMI film festival.

Sony PAL’s Singhasan Battisi (Creative Eye Ltd) will focus on the story of a villager by name Samant (Kunal Bakshi) who will lay the next big challenge for Raja Bhoj (Siddharth Arora).

The dashing Rithvik Dhanjani enchanted audiences with his acting skills in Pavitra Rishta. The dapper performer later went on to wow everyone with his groovy histrionics in Nach Baliye 6. Rithvik spoke to us for our lifestyle section.

Money is very important for me. There are things which are equally important than money.

What are the investments that you have made?

The young and bubbly Abigail Pande will be seen playing a radio jockey in Zee TV’s upcoming superhero show, Maharakshak Aryan. As a RJ, Abigail will be seen doing what she likes best, talking.

A blend of music and dance will add some extra zing to comedy show Chidiya Ghar with the entry of actresses Aditi Sajwan and Shafaq Naaz.

They play Koyal and Mayuri respectively.

As the names aptly suggests, Koyal will present her love for music on the SAB TV show, while Mayuri will showcase her dancing skills.

This is Aditi’s second collaboration with the channel after Baal Veer.
