Aloysius College, Mangalore, London  School  of Economics and
Inner  Temple, London;  m. Smt. Louella nee  Castelino; 1 d.;
Editor; and  Publisher  of  " Insight", 
English  Weekly,  since  1961; retired  from  the
I.C.S. in 1959 after  serving  in the U.P. and  Mardas 
State and in the Central  Government; was Collector in the districts of
Gorakhpur, Rae Bareli, Hamirpur, Elah in the U.P. and Chinglepet and
Nilgiris in the Madras State; was Deputy Secretary, Finance, U.P.; Joint
Secretary, Food, Rehabilitation, Government of India; Secretary to
Education, Health, Public Works Development (including Industries, Labour
& Co-operation), Home, in the Government of Madras.

Favourite pastime and recreation: 

Tennis, reading and
writing.

Special interest: 

Improving living conditions in
villages.

Accomplishments in letters, art and science: 

Many
original contributions in economics and politics, some prize winning on
subjects like "Grain Marketing", "Development Currency",
"Democratic Decentralisation", "Democracy in India".

Tennis and formerly polo, pigsticking,
golf, cricket; Madras and Delhi Gymkhanas.
