The badminton champion Saina Nehwal made India proud of her by winning $750,000 Star Australian Open Super Series. Saina won the series on Sunday by beating Carolina Marin of Spain in the summit clash. Earlier this year, Saina won the India Open Grand Prix Gold and prevailed 21-18, 21-11 in a 43-minute contest that left her richer by $56,000. As Saina basks in the glory of her victory in the sport, she is being flooded with the congratulatory messages from her fans all over the world. B-Town actress Amrita Rao featured in the film ‘Satyagraha‘ in 2013 helmed by Prakash Jha. The movie was a super hit with inspiring storyline and stellar star cast like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Amrita Rao. Going by the latest news update, Amrita Rao will star in Prakash Jha‘s next.

Amrita will be seen playing a key role in Jha’s untitled next film, which is said to have its roots dipped in a social issue. The flick is in scripting phase and will be having Bollywood elements just like Jha’s other movies. Although the other star cast is yet to be finalised, Jha has locked in Amrita for the film, as per the report.

Siddharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh starrer ‘Ek Villain‘ released on June 27. The mystery-thriller earned huge response from the audience on the first day of its release by collecting 16.75 crore nett, reportedly. By collecting this figure, it proved second best after ‘Jai Ho‘ starring Salman Khan. ‘Ek Villain‘ was released across more than 2500 screens and received mixed reviews from the critics.

On Saturday, this directorial by Mohit Suri witnessed a fall by around 15% and is expected to garner 15.95 crore nett to 16.25 crore nett on second day, as per the early trends. If it makes so, the total two days collection of the film will be around 32.80 crore nett. Also, the flick is anticipated to cross the figure of 50 crore nett over the first weekend of its release. In the overseas market, ‘Ek Villain‘ managed to collect 11.10 crore nett and is expected to collect around 15 crore nett during the first weekend, as per the report. The film reported the total worldwide collection of 43.90 crore nett till now.

Talking about Sajid Khan‘s last week release ‘Humshakals‘, the film bagged multiple negative reviews, however continued to entertain the audience over its comedy quotient. The multi-starrer comic caper collected 12.50 crore nett on day one, while the second day collections of the film were 12.59 crore nett and Sunday collections rose up to 15.04 crore nett. Monday witnessed low response by garnering 05.10 crore nett and it raked in 04.25 crore nett on Tuesday. 03.75 crore nett were the Wednesday collections of the laughter ride, thereby making the total domestic collection of the film up to 53.23 crore nett. ‘Humshakals‘ recorded the overseas collection up to 12.16 crore nett, reportedly. The total worldwide collection of the film went up to 65.39 crore nett, as per the report.

We earlier reported about Sangeeta Bijlani returning to the silver screen with the film ‘Shab’ to be helmed by Onir. However, Bijlani had walked out of the project and now, Raveena Tandon has replaced her. As per the report, Raveena Tandon will play the role of elite socialite, which was previously offered to Bijlani.

Raveena kept herself away from the silver screen for a long period and appeared in commercials and on the small screen. The actress has now decided to make a comeback on the big screen with this flick. The filmmaker Onir is rewriting the part for Raveena, as revealed by him. She is currently in Los Angeles. She will begin with the workshops from July 25 in Delhi. As Onir said, the film is based on the modern relationships and hence, sex is an integral part of it. There are some kisses and a love making scene in the film, added the filmmaker. He also stated that Raveena knows the translation of the script on the screen and so, she is ready for the sensual scenes.

The famous television reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ has gained an immense popularity among the audience over its piping hot content. The “Dabangg” star Salman Khan hosted the show for past three years and now, the show will be hosted by another Bollywood biggie.

Going by the oven fresh news update, Shah Rukh Khan is going to host ‘Bigg Boss 8’. SRK is all set to turn the host for this show and Salman takes the back seat from hosting it, as he is busy filming for three films at a time. The news update was confirmed by the production house Endemol and they revealed that ‘Bigg Boss 8’ will be aired on Colors channel. In the meanwhile, rumours said the show may be aired on Life OK, but it will now be aired on Colors Channel like its previous seasons.

The talented actress Vidya Balan is in mood to leave no stone unturned to make her upcoming much-awaited release ‘Bobby Jasoos‘ a blockbuster. She will be starting her multi-city tour and Vidya Balan preferred to commence this tour by firstly visiting Mahim Dargah. Vidya coincidentally visited the holy place in the month of Ramadan.

During the visit to Dargah, Vidya was dressed like a typical Hyderabadi woman, which she will be portraying in ‘Bobby Jasoos‘. She offered the prayers and even took a cab ride. Vidya will be in Baroda today for the promotions of the detective-flick, as per the buzz.
