New Delhi, July 21 (IANS) A live performance by singer Kamaal Khan on popular Bollywood tracks, décor reflecting the golden period and actresses Bipasha Basu and Chitrangada Singh walking the ramp in true diva style, the grand finale by Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers as a part of India Couture Week 2014 turned out to be a complete Bollywood affair. While Chitrangada started the show in black voluminous Gauri and Nainika gown accessorising it well with statement neckpiece, Bipasha looked no less than a bride in designer Rohit Bal lehanga and matching jewellery.

BERLIN (AP) — Germany on Sunday honored a group of Nazi-era officers who tried to kill Adolf Hitler 70 years ago. The plot — portrayed in films such as the 2008 Hollywood movie “Valkyrie” — helped establish a principle under which German soldiers today are encouraged to defy orders if they would result in a crime or violate human dignity.

Broadway to give dim lights honor to Elaine Stritch who died at 89

Washington, July 18 (ANI): Broadway will dim its light for 1 minute on July 18 to honor Elaine Stritch, who died at the age of 89 recently. Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of the Broadway League, said in a statement that Stritch’s big personality was matched by her big talent and collaborating with some of Broadway’s greatest playwrights and composers throughout her lengthy career, her signature numbers and singular style created a memorable legacy. The four-time Tony nominee will always be remembered as an important part of Broadway’s rich history, and she will be missed by her many fans, she further added. The one-woman show Stritch made her home on the stage, from her Broadway debut in 1946 in Loco to her final bow as Madame Armfeldt in the 2010 revival of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s ‘A Little Night Music’.
