There is no denying the Shahid Kapoor’s Haider is not exactly the run-of-the mill Bollywood masala entertainer. An adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Haider as its trailer shows looks to be intense, high on emotions and mesmerising performances. Devoid of the usual Bollywood cliches there is no doubt about the fact that Haider is different in its genre. While high critical acclaim has always flowed in large measure for Vishal Bhardwaj’s films, the box-office sizzle has always eluded him.
