Works for empowering the poor and building a prosperous India; Secretary, Agricultural Labour’s Union; Joint Secretary, A.B.V.P. during student days; Member,

Satyagraha for voting right to youth at 18 years; associated with Bharatiya Jana Sangh since
1971 and actively participated in its various agitations; led agitations highlighting drought in Maharashtra and other social
empowerment issues; jailed during Emergency
for more than 15 months; lent leadership to students’ movement in 1974 for the development of
Marathwada region of Maharashtra; led several movements of Bharatiya Janata Party pertaining to
indebtedness of farmers, remunerative prices for cotton, Dunkel Draft Treaty, etc. while educating farmer community of Marathwada region; led the (i) Ekatmata Yatra, and (ii) Kisan Yatra; organised Janadesh Yatra in Marathwada and also Sangharsh

strengthen cooperative movement in Maharashtra
