Number of A-listers are willing to get associated with Rohit Shetty‘s films, but producer Pahlaj Nihalani has rejected his offer to sell the remake rights of 1993’s superhit film ‘Aankhen‘ pictured on Govinda and Chunky Pandey.
‘Aankhen‘ is a laughing riot which caught the attention of ‘Singham Returns‘ director for his next project. But now he has to think of something else as Pahlaj has turned down his offer, as he himself is making the remake of this comic caper. However, Pahlaj didn’t mind if Rohit would have directed the remake under his banner, which he is not interested in doing.
Pahlaj has even titled the remake as ‘Aankhen Char’. Though he is yet to finalize the cast and director, things are in progress and he likely to hire two established actors of Bollywood to play double role in his second innings.

The CBI Wednesday registered a formal case to investigate the death of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, five weeks after a Bombay High Court order, an official said.

Temperatures and humidity are likely to continue to rise throughout this century, causing glaciers to retreat and desertification to spread, according to the report published by the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research. “Over the past 50 years, the rate of temperature rise has been double the average global level,” it said, according to the report on the website of Science and Technology Daily, a state-run newspaper. Glacier retreat could disrupt water supply to several of Asia’s main rivers that originate from the plateau, including China’s Yellow and Yangtze, India’s Brahmaputra, and the Mekong and Salween in Southeast Asia.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said on the occasion, “We are all ‘swayam sevaks’ and we have gathered here today to celebrate ‘Raksha Bandhan’.” He said, “Earlier we used to celebrate this festival with the people of our respective regions, but this year we have parliament session to attend so we have gathered here to celebrate the festival today”. Naidu also said, “RSS leader Bhaiyaji Joshi is our chief guest and during his address he spoke on our duties towards society”.
