Communal violence bill is the need of the hour: Manish Tewari

New Delhi, Aug 13, (ANI): Congress party leader Manish Tewari today stated that the debate on Communal Violence Bill is the need of the hour while emphasizing that likeminded parties must come together to combat the spectre of communalism. Tewari told ANI, “It is the need of the hour because ever since this government has come into existence there is a spectre of communalism which hangs over the country. Earlier, Congress leader Rashid Alvi had also said that it was a good thing that Communal Violence Bill will be discussed in the Parliament today. The Congress party has given an adjournment notice in Lok Sabha to discuss communal violence and Sonia Gandhi also addressed a Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) meet held today.

Manish Tewari opposes introduction of Judicial Appointments Commission Bill

New Delhi, Aug 13 (ANI): Congress Manish Tewari today spoke strongly against the introduction of the Judicial Appointments Commission Bill which seeks to replace the existing collegium system. Tewari told ANI, “In terms of article 368, any amendment to chapter 4 part 5, which deals with the union judiciary, has to be ratified by one half of the states through resolution,”, adding, “Till the time the constitution does not get amended, how can the government introduce a bill which then proposes to flesh out as to how judicial appointment should be made and how judicial transfers will be done?” Union Law minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Monday tabled the Judicial Appointments Commission Bill in the Lok Sabha and it will replace the existing collegium system when it comes into effect.

High-powered diplomacy for Modi government in September

The beginning of the month will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking off to Japan for the annual bilateral meeting, during which the civil nuclear talks will be very much on the table. The prime minister heads to the US at the end of the month for his summit meeting with President Barack Obama. Before he embarks for the US, India will have two important foreign guests – Chinese President Xi Jinping in the middle of the month and before that Australian Prime Minister Tony Abott.

According to the 59-year-old actor, the duo felt the heaviness surrounding the circumstances in the story while shooting the sex scene, which made it look good on screen, the Huffington Post reported. The ‘Fargo’ star further added that since the movie, which was directed by Marc Forster, was “dark” he felt “pretty exposed” rather than titillated while shooting the “exciting” intimate moment with one of the Hollywood’s sexiest women.

Kriti Sanon signs three film contract with Sajid Nadiadwala

Kriti presented pile of praises for producer Sajid Nadiadwala where she went on saying that he treats her like his own child and he is concerned about what she picks next. Disclosing more about the contract, she said it’s not a binding deal she can work with other filmmakers too, but she he signed three films with him.

Tom Cruise heading to Morocco for 'Mission Impossible 5'

American actor Tom Cruise will arrive in Morocco in early September to play the starring role in “Mission: Impossible 5”, media reports said.

The production teams of the hit saga are already in Morocco preparing the locations for this fifth episode, to be shot in Marrakesh, Rabat and Casablanca, Efe quoted the weekly TelQuel magazine as saying.

In Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital, the district chosen for the shoot is the Jewish ghetto, or “mellah”, in the Old Medina quarter.
