New Delhi, Aug.8 (ANI): After meeting External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj this morning, visiting United States Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is expected to call on several key Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha. Hagel is visiting India as U.S. Defence Secretary for the first time.

New Delhi, August 8 (ANI): In a surprising incident, a nine-year-old boy studying in class three, was booked under Section 107 of the Indian Penal Code in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, for disrupting peace, reportedly after the police cleared his name following an inquiry. BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI, “Uttar Pradesh Police is unable to capture real criminals so is going after minors. Not only in Firozabad, but it’s happening in whole of Uttar Pradesh. If law and order situation is not good in UP, then it’s because of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav.” Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal also said, “Someone must have complained against him, police should investigate the matter.” Meanwhile, investigation is reportedly underway and senior police official have assured that action will be taken if any police personnel is found guilty.

Raipur, August 8 (ANI): Youth Congress members in Raipur held a protest in the city on Thursday, demanding that ration should be provided to the ration card holders. The General Secretary of Indian Youth Congress (IYC), Vikas Upadhyay, said that the BJP leaders have not fulfilled their promise made at the time of campaign. Upadhyay told ANI, “BJP has collected votes in the name of Ration card, both in Lok Sabha as well as Rajya Sabha.

New Delhi, Aug.8 (ANI): The 100th anniversary of World War 1 was recently celebrated in Europe with a fair degree of poignant elegance. The distance maintained by the Government of India from the event came as a surprise to the world given the massive contribution by the country to the war effort under British rule and the large number of soldiers of Indian origin serving the British Army who sacrificed their lives during the war. It seems that India is now hesitant to align itself with the demeaning times of British occupation and colonisation of the country.

New Delhi, Aug.8 (ANI): Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran leader Jaswant Singh was admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital here on Thursday, and is said to be in critical condition.
