Tigmanshu Dhulia‘ next film is based on friendship, love and betrayal which he has profoundly named as ‘Yaara’. Months back when he incepted the idea of this film, he had even revealed the star-cast comprising Vidyut Jamwal and Amit Sadh playing the friends in their mid-20s, while Manoj Bajpai and Irrfan Khan were supposed to be their older avatar.

Eventually, Manoj moved out of the film making Tigmanshu to play his part. But then, the producers jointly decided to drop the idea of projecting two set of actors to play the same role. Finally, Amit and Vidyut were declared to play the different ages of their characters as it will connect better with the audience. Thus, in this whole reframing process Irrfan got dropped out of ‘Yaara’.

However, Irrfan holds no grudges against his director friend Tigmanshu and said that he must be having some strong reason to opt some other actor for ‘Yaara’. This won’t affect their bond as they have never commercialized their friendship.

Cast: Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Sean Harris, Joel McHale

Director: Scott Derrickson

Rating: * * *

Packed with clichés, “Deliver Us From Evil” is an exorcism drama that involves a police procedural plot. It is neither sinister, forbidding nor intimidating. But fans of the genre would find it entertaining.
