First weekend box-office collection of ‘Daawat-E-Ishq’ and ‘Khoobsurat’

September 22, 2014 0

Last Friday, films of young star-cast struck the theatres. ‘Daawat-E-Ishq‘ delighted small towns, ‘Khoobsurat‘ pleased the urban audience. But were the movie-goers actually “delighted and pleased” by them. Let’s check it out.

Considering it’s out of the track promotional strategy and wider release in over 1800-2000 screens ‘Daawat-E-Ishq‘ gave below the average performance at the box-office. On Friday it garnered INR 4.80 Cr. It was expected that weekend would improve the numbers, which did happen but was strictly limited. On Saturday the film collected INR 5.32 Cr and on Sunday it made the business of INR 5.97 Cr. Therefore, the total first weekend box-office collection is INR 16.09 Cr.

Khoobsurat‘ failed to attain the classic mark which its original did years back. Being “too-girlish” and elite the film had the limited scope. On Friday it collected INR 3.02 Cr, while on Saturday its collection got improved by inches as it garnered 3.74 Cr and on Sunday it made the business of INR 4.78 Cr. Therefore, the total first weekend box-office collection is INR 11.54 Cr.

As per these reports, ‘Daawat-E-Ishq‘ appeared victorious over ‘Khoobsurat‘.
