Nepal political parties sharply divided on Constitution-linked issues

Kathmandu, Sept.6 (ANI): Political parties in Nepal continue to be sharply divided over contentious issues related to the Constitution, and are unlikely to meet Saturday’s deadline for settling them. In cross-party talks, the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-UML proposed that two reports-on agreed and disputed issues-be presented to the CA so that the calendar needs no amendment. These parties argue that there will be room to settle disputes even after the CA takes up contentious issues, but opposition parties disagree, saying that the deadline should be extended to allow more time for agreement among the parties. Opposition parties expressed fears that the contentious issues may be put to vote if they are taken to the CA as the ruling parties command a two thirds majority there.

BJP is scared to contest Delhi Assembly elections: Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed

First day collection of ‘Mary Kom’

Yesterday on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the most-awaited film of the year ‘Mary Kom‘ marked its release in the theatres. Having Priyanka Chopra on board, the film had an exceptional story of World Boxing Champion Mary Kom to tell. Though the film got average reviews from the critics, let’s check out how far it has succeeded in ruling over the minds of the audience.

Releasing in over 1500 screens across India, states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Assam announced ‘Mary Kom‘ tax-free which has worked pretty well in the favour of the film. It picked up the line right from its first show resulting in the occupancy of 70% throughout the day. On its first day ‘Mary Kom‘ registered the whooping collection of INR 8.71 Cr at the box-office. The film is believed to reach even higher number over the weekend.

Directed by Omung Kumar, film ‘Mary Kom‘ is running in the theatres. Go catch it!

‘Haider’ undergoes 41 Censor Cuts!

Making out from its adulterous promos, ‘Haider‘ was destined to undergo the cut and sew editing process from the Indian Censor Board Committee. But no one would have ever wondered that the film has to bear 41 Censor Cuts from the editorial board.

Reportedly Censor committee considered some scenes inappropriate to get displayed on the big screens. To list a few, these spine-chilling visuals were of a burning body, corpuses piled in a truck, a close-up shot of an appendix surgery, a stone-pelting incident and a wire being inserted in naked man. But now they are no more in the film ‘Haider‘.

‘Haider‘ also happens to be the last film to be censored by suspended CEO Rakesh Kumar, who is presently under the scanner for the case of bribery.

Starring Shahid Kapoor, Tabu, Shraddha Kapoor and Kay Kay Menon in the lead roles, ‘Haider‘ will hit the theatres on October 2.

By Patricia Reaney NEW YORK (Reuters) – Tributes poured in on Friday as comedians and friends mourned the loss of Joan Rivers, the sassy, sharp-tongued comedy legend who jokingly wrote about wanting an elaborate funeral and will be laid to rest in a private service on Sunday. Rivers, 81, will have an invitation-only funeral at Temple Emanu-El, a landmark synagogue on New York’s Fifth Avenue where she was a member of the congregation. No details of the service were released, but in her 2012 book “I Hate Everyone …Starting With Me,” Rivers, ever the comedy star, wrote about wanting her funeral to be a big showbiz affair, complete with actress Meryl Streep crying in different accents. Late-night talk show host David Letterman said the force of her comedy was overpowering.
