New Delhi, Sept.3 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing in the National Herald case involving Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, till October 1. Thus he has fixed October 1 for a complete hearing, in which it will be decided whether the petition should be dismissed or the summons should be quashed,” said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy. Swamy has alleged that over Rs 2,000 crore worth of assets also got transferred to YI, whose 76 per cent of shareholding are with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi and the remaining shareholding of 24 per cent vests with the other accused.

Lucknow/Raipur, Sep 3 (ANI): Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh, K L Gupta, on Wednesday seemed to be not in tune with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s comment that police officials initiating action against Maoists should not worry about reactions from human rights bodies, saying it is easy to make remarks but the ground reality is very different. Senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi on his part said that dealing with Maoists in such a manner will result in the loss of many innocent lives. “I do believe that we need to deal with the Maoists but I do not agree with the Home Minister that we need to erase them frenetically. Another danger related to this is that in those Maoist hit areas, there are also people living who do not believe in that ideology.

Sathasivam as the Governor of Kerala could compromise the independence of the judiciary. Secondly, offering such posts to retired judges compromises the independence of the judiciary, because it will not be good if the judges know that they can be offered such posts by the government,” Bhushan told ANI here.
