Apple says its systems not to blame for celebrity photo breach

By Edwin Chan SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – The week before a crucial launch of its new iPhone, Apple Inc said intimate photos of celebrities including Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence were leaked online through the apparent hacking of individual iCloud accounts. Apple rushed to restore confidence in its systems’ security, saying the celebrity photo scandal that also ensnared swimsuit model Kate Upton, actress Kirsten Dunst and possibly dozens more was the result of targeted attacks on accounts storing personal data and not a direct breach of Apple systems. “We have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet,” Apple said in a statement. “None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems including iCloud or Find My iPhone.” The celebrity hacking that came to light over the long Labor Day weekend nevertheless ranks among the highest-profile public fiascos for Apple in recent years.

Hong Kong is bracing for a wave of protests after Beijing on Sunday ruled out fully democratic elections for the city’s leader in 2017, sparking a political showdown with democrats. Police on Monday used pepper spray to disperse activists who heckled and jeered a senior Chinese official who flew to Hong Kong to explain the decision by China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee. Although this target has been brutally strangled by the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, the significance of our movement will not end at this point,” the Occupy Central with Love and Peace movement said in a statement emailed to reporters on Tuesday.

Seems like this is the final song on which the team performs at the grand finale. Plus, the song has also got an appealing dream escape where Shah Rukh Khan romances Deepika Padukone.

Overall, we rate “Indiawaale” as vibrant number beautifully pictured, also the special credit goes to the lyricist Irshad Kamil and singers of the song Vishal Dadlani, Shankar Mahadevan, KK and Neeti Mohan for their joint efforts.

‘Action Jackson’ trailer will release with ‘Happy New Year’

Nothing is forever in this world, not even enmity. These words were rightly proved by Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. Seems like they have finally settled their scores and are back to being friends. As the recent report reveals that Ajay’s ‘Action Jackson‘ trailer will be released with SRK’s ‘Happy New Year‘ film.

The story behind this camaraderie is that ‘Happy New Year‘ trailer was released with ‘Singham Returns‘, therefore this is the time when SRK has to pay back Ajay’s debt by attaching ‘Action Jackson‘ trailer with his upcoming ‘HNY’. With this we are hinted to believe that director Rohit Shetty has a part in bridging the gap between the duo.

Let’s wait and watch whether they will come in public to share their cordial bond like SRK and Salman Khan (their much published hug at Iftar party) or else, it will be limited to their film screenings only!

In the wake of the breach, cybersecurity experts and mobile developers have called out inadequacies in Apple’s and, more generally, cloud-services security. Thousands have taken to Twitter to express their frustrations with the company. Some security experts faulted Apple for failing to make its devices and software easier to secure through two-factor authentication, which requires a separate verification code after users log in initially.

Appeals court grills U.S. lawyer on NSA phone collection

Circuit Court of Appeals in New York was the first appellate court to hear arguments on whether the National Security Agency (NSA) program is lawful, in a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) challenging the gathering of so-called metadata. Judge Gerard Lynch, one of three judges who heard the arguments, said it was “hard for me to imagine” Congress had envisioned such a sweeping effort when it passed an expansion of anti-terrorism powers known as the Patriot Act after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Stuart Delery, a lawyer for the Justice Department, told Lynch in response that Congress was fully informed when it voted to reauthorize the Patriot Act twice.

Venezuela blasts U.S. TV show over Maduro nerve gas plot

Venezuela has lashed out at new U.S. “For lies and manipulations against President @NicolasMaduro in the series “Legends” we’re requesting (National Telecoms Commission) Conatel open an investigation,” Information Minister Delcy Rodriguez said in a tweet late on Monday night. “The producers did not intend to imply that the show was reporting any actual events when it mentioned President Maduro’s name. We sincerely apologize to President Maduro.” Time Warner Inc-owned cable network TNT is currently airing the first season of “Legends.” The disputed episode, “Lords of War,” shows an undercover FBI agent, played by British actor Sean Bean, burning a suspect with an iron to get him to confess to whom he is selling VX, an extremely toxic nerve gas.
