Abhishek Bachchan is the proud owner of the Pro-Kabaddi League title winning team- Jaipur Pink Panthers, which succeeded over the opposing team of Ronnie Screwvala‘s U Mumba.
In the Cricket Crazy India, Kabaddi was promoted at such a high level for the first time. Where about two months ago, Pro-Kabaddi League inaugural function took place and thereafter it was closely followed by the audience through LIVE matches on TV and also in stadiums of eight cities across the country. This gave the players recognition which they deserved long back. Plus, the presence of Bollywood celebrities lent the glamour to the sport.
Hitting off all the teams, Abhishek’s Jaipur Pink Panthers and Ronnie’s U Mumba made it to the finals. The first half was neck to neck match, but in the second half Jaipur Panthers uplifted the game and won by 35-24.
Abhishek shared his excitement with the following tweet- “Thank u all for the unbelievable support!Any sport is made by the fans and Kabaddi has awesome fans! Thank u for supporting @JaipurPanthers.” He further added “Last night feels like a dream. Can’t believe that we won the Pro Kabaddi League. All the hard work of the boys, coach and staff came through.”
The finals took place at NSCI stadium in Mumbai, where even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joined in to support her husband’s team.
