China should not be perturbed over India-Japan ties: Manish Tewari

September 1, 2014 0

New Delhi, Sept. 1 (ANI): Congress Party leader Manish Tewari on Monday asked China not be perturbed about Japan getting cozy with India. “The difficulty is China and the growth of China which ostensibly while being purported to be peaceful, is anything but peaceful, and is troublesome for Asia,” Tewari told ANI here. “So, therefore, if other Asian nations who have a stake in the peace and stability of the region do get together to talk, China should not take umbrage to that,” he added, while referring to a report published in a China daily, which apparently took offence over Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attempting to create a wedge between China and India.

The researchers found that coffee drinkers had a higher CV risk profile than non-coffee drinkers.

Sridevi’s ‘English Vinglish’ gets golden run in Japan

September 1, 2014 0

Fan fever of Bollywood stars has crossed the bars of our country. This is rightly proved by the latest progression of Sridevi starrer ‘English Vinglish‘ which marched its step towards Japan with its release on June 28 in across 33 screens. Less did the makers knew that the story of an Indian housewife will be liked so much by the Japanese audience that now they have to increase the film’s screening in 17 more theatres. Thus, making the total screen count sum up to 50 across 20 cities in Japan.

Overwhelmed by this Japanese gesture, Sridevi thanked director Gauri Shinde for making such a beautiful film. And it’s not just in Japan, but Korea, Germany and Taiwan are also equally impressed by ‘English Vinglish‘.

Earlier, Aamir Khan‘s ‘3 Idiots‘ got the blockbuster response in the Japanese theatres. And now it’s Sridevi‘s ‘English Vinglish‘ to attain that mark.

Must say, better days are ahead for Bollywood’s women centric films!

Obese youngsters are at nearly six fold risk of hypertension

September 1, 2014 0

Washington, Sept 1 (ANI): A new research has suggested that obese youngsters have a nearly six fold risk of hypertension. The study conducted from PEP (Prevention Education Program) Family Heart Study presented at ESC Congress showed that compared with normal weight children and adolescents, the risk of prehypertension was significantly higher in youths with an elevated body mass index (BMI) and the risk was 1.6 fold higher in overweight and 2.4 fold higher in obese boys, and 1.8 fold higher in overweight and 3.3 fold higher in obese girls. Professor Peter Schwandt from Germany, said that the prevalence of hypertension and obesity in children and adolescents was continuing to rise in most high and middle-income countries because adiposity is considered a driving force for cardiovascular disease, they examined whether elevated blood pressure was associated with body fat distribution in young people. Schwandt asserted that they found that obese boys had a nearly six fold increased risk of hypertension compared to normal weight boys and in obese girls the risk was more than four times greater than their normal weight counterparts.
