After entertaining the audience with the recent releases like ‘Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty‘ and ‘Entertainment‘, the action king Akshay Kumar is ready to come up with something different. This time, Akshay Kumar will star in a thriller titled ‘Airlift’ that revolves around the biggest human evacuation.
Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of Ranjit Katyal, an influential and affluent Indian businessman, who considers himself a Kuwaiti rather than an Indian. Once he finds his family along with him is in danger and no longer has any influence on Iraqis. Unknowingly, Ranjit becomes the person to whom all the 1,70,000 Indians turn for help for letting them go out of Kuwait safely. ‘Airlift’ talks about the journey of these Indians along with Ranjit Katyal and narration of how they manage to travel thousands of kilometers across the border into Amman, Jordan and survive the Iraqi invasion. In the history of the world, this was the biggest and successful human evacuation tried by any nation where 1,70,000 Indians were brought to their home country safely from Amman. The film also depicts how the Indian government flew over 488 Air India commercial flights into a war zone for the evacuation of 1,70,000 Indians in 59 days and for bringing them home safely.
Presented by T-Series and Cape of Good Films and produced by Emmay Entertainment Pvt. Ltd and Crouching Tiger Motion Pictures, the thriller ‘Airlift’ is directed by Raja Krishna Menon. Bhushan Kumar revealed that the story will be presented on the silver screen in a great way and Akshay will be essaying a heroic character paired with perfection in this flick.
