Ketan Mehta had to wait for 6 long years to bring his much-anticipated film ‘Rang Rasiya‘ to the theatres, but finally his wait is over with its release on November 7. Let’s check out what fate it met at the box-office on its opening day.

‘Rang Rasiya‘ opened with the decent screening in 900 screens all over India, but its occupancy remained limited to 5%. The film collected Rupees 70 lakhs on Day 1. The reason for the poor collection is cited in its outdated look and theme.

Remake of 1982’s classic film, ‘The Shaukeens‘ hit the theatres yesterday releasing in over 1900-2000 screens. But this wider release didn’t reciprocate to bigger box-office collection on its opening day.

On Friday morning, theatre occupancy was limited to 25%. However, the business went down when the film refused to take up in the evening shows. Delhi, Central India and East Punjab experienced an average opening, while Mumbai and Gujarat’s day ended with bad collection. Thus, the first day box-office collection of ‘The Shaukeens‘ is Rupees 3.80 Cr.

Vivek Oberoi has hit the luck with his upcoming film ‘Bank Chor‘, as he gets to play a character which is closely inspired by his favourite star Anil Kapoor.

Reportedly, Vivek’s cop character in ‘Bank Chor‘ has been inspired by the iconic role of “Lakhan”, played by Anil in the film ‘Ram Lakhan‘. Also, Vivek will be sporting in Anil’s thick moustache look.

As per the sources, Vivek was seen bonding with Anil at the recent award function held in Sri Lanka, as he wanted to understand his style and mannerism in more detail.

The socio-political satire ‘Zed Plus‘ which was earlier dated to be released on November 21, has now been postpone by a week. The latest report states that the film will hit the theatres on November 28, alongside ‘Ungli‘.

‘Zed Plus‘ is about a cycle-puncture repairer’s dilemma over the wrong decision taken by the Prime Minister of India. While, ‘Ungli‘ is about a group of youngsters who find a way out of corruption, giving “teeda” lessons to the corrupt babus. Though the subjects are somewhat related to each other, as per the trade analyst both the films belong to separate genres, so each film will get a space to earn their share.

Directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, film ‘Zed Plus‘ stars Adil Hussain, Mona Singh, kulbhushan Kharbanda and Mukesh Tiwari in the pivotal roles.

‘The Shaukeens‘ lady Lisa Haydon will be entering the Bigg Boss house soon. Not as a contestant, but to promote her film on the highest TRP garnering show- “Bigg Boss: Season 8”.
