The 72 years-old actor is about to begin the second schedule of his upcoming film ‘Piku‘ and on that note wrote- “I see some cut and edited scenes from ‘Piku‘ with Shoojit as we discuss the next schedule in Kolkata, Delhi and Gujarat, a longish outdoor. Kolkata shall bring back old memories of my seven year stint as an executive in a Company .. it shall bring back the films shot there. The love and the passion of Bengal is overwhelming. Whenever in doubt or discomfort of your disposition, visit Kolkata… the people shall pick you up as their own and fill you with their cheer and affection… always,”

While, voicing his description about Delhi and Gujarat, Sr. Bachchan posted “Delhi has been home for many years.. its detailing has often been repeated.. but no matter how extensively we may express our feelings for a city that has been your abode for long, it is never enough to completely describe it.

Gujarat is the new home. Those visits for the tourism campaign has given me the love of the lovable affable and most hospitable people of the region.”

2015 to be an action year for Shruti Haasan

Whether you call it coincidence or type-casting, actress Shruti Haasan is gearing up for the forthcoming year in full action with her three back to back films- ‘Welcome Back‘ with John Abraham, ‘Gabbar‘ with Akshay Kumar and ‘Yaara‘ with Vidyut Jamwal, all backed by full-fledged stunts in it.

As per the sources, all the three films fall in different genres and have a unique space from story-line point of view. The only common factors between all these films are Shruti’s presence and action filled stunts performed by her costars. All the three men are known for their distinguishing style and positioning in the film industry- Akshay being the superstar fighter and daredevil, John being the beefy macho man and Vidyut being the young generation’s crusader of combat based action without cables or doubles based on his extensive martial arts background.

After turning heads round with her spoof video ‘Genius Of The Year’, Alia Bhatt hits YouTube again with a short film named ‘Going Home’ posted by Vogue India as part of their “women centric” #VogueEmpower campaign. Gaining word of appreciations on her homeland, she has also found a new fan in Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher with this short film.

Directed by filmmaker Vikas Bahl, ‘Going Home’ stars Alia as a young woman whose car breaks down in the middle of the night on a vacant road and then she encounters a gang of rough looking men. But, without any hesitation she approaches them to drop her home. Seeing this unusual take, Ashton shared the link of this video on Facebook along with a title- “Wow. Just wow.”

Overwhelmed by Ashton’s response, Alia took Twitter to share her excitement by posting a snapshot of his Facebook’s page, followed by a caption “*unable to form a sentence due to immense joy* Wohoooooooooooooooooo”.

‘Haider’ wins an award in Rome Film Festival

Vishal Bhardwaj‘s take on Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’, ‘Haider‘ won the People’s Choice Award in the Mondo Genere (world genre) at Rome Film festival, becoming the first Indian film to attain the mark.

Shahid Kapoor took Twitter to share his excitement with his followers by writing, “1st festival 1st win. Too much. Wowzaaaa. People’s choice in the main category at the Rome film festival… A first for an Indian film. #haider. Proud and humbled,” on Sunday.

While, Shraddha Kapoor tweeted, “We WON! #Haider – the 1st Indian film to win the main category of people’s choice award at Rome film festival! So humbled, grateful & proud!” on Sunday.

Set at the backdrop of Kashmir’s turmoil, ‘Haider‘ effectively pictured the intense human relationships on screen. The phenomenal performances given by the lead cast and Vishal’s flawless direction ultimately gained the film a strong word of mouth from the people.

Homi Adajania loses his sister on Bhai Dooj

When, whole nation was celebrating the bond of brother and sister’s unconditional relationship with Bhai Dooj. ‘Finding Fanny’ director Homi Adajania became the unfortunate one, losing his sister Zia to a heart attack on October 25.

As per the sources, Zia was recovering after a recent surgery. But all of a sudden on Saturday morning, she collapsed and was later declared dead because of a cardiac attack.

Adajania family is in the state of shock and is mourning Zia’s untimely death.

‘Happy New Year’ crashes all the record with its first weekend Box-office collection

Shah Rukh Khan owns a fate of breaking the records. And here he does it again with his latest release ‘Happy New Year‘ making it attain the biggest Box-office collection stature in India over its opening weekend.

Happy New Year‘ has collected Rs. 108.86 Crs on the opening weekend all India, with Rs. 104.10 Crs in Hindi, Rs. 2.92 Crs in Telugu dub and Rs. 1.84 Crs in Tamil dub. Thus, the film is currently ranking number one in the weekend opening slot, all over Indian film industry.

Speaking about the numbers, Venky Mysore, CEO RCE said, “We are thrilled that after Chennai Express had set a new record in 2013, Happy New Year has set another new benchmark. We are grateful for the ongoing love and support of audience.”

‘Baby’ and ‘Khamoshiyaan’ to battle on Republic Day

The day when our country’s rules and regulations got sanctioned, will now see the battle of Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Baby‘ and Mahesh Bhatt‘s ‘Khamoshiyaan‘ next year.

Both the films are schedules to release next year on January 26. Earlier, this clash was going to take place between ‘Welcome Back‘ and ‘Baby‘. But, ‘Welcome Back‘ backed off the competition by forwarding its release to March. That’s when ‘Baby‘ thought the way is clear, but then ‘Khamoshiyaan‘ arrived at the slot giving it a threatening competition.

Mahesh Bhatt has announced the release date of his film stating that it won’t affect Akshay’s film as both the films are based on varied genre. ‘Baby‘ happens to be an espionage thriller, while ‘Khamoshiyaan‘ is the combination of erotica, supernatural and great music.

Anushka Sharma to head for her second production venture

The youngest Bollywood actress to turn film producer, Anushka Sharma has got no term called “rest” in her dictionary. Even before she could wrap her maiden production venture ‘NH10‘, she is up with her second film.

Anushka and her brother Karnesh Sharma are happy with the way their first film has turned out. Therefore, they have assigned Sudip Sharma to write the script and Navdeep Singh to direct their second film, as they own an experience in materializing ‘NH10‘.

The film is said to go on the floor next year in an abroad location. Anushka has always believed in taking up challenges and doesn’t mind paying extra charges in order to create a cinema that truly excites her as a producer and as a viewer.
