On October 8, Bollywood’s first-lady Gauri Khan turned a year older celebrating her 44th birthday bash hosted by best friend Maheep Kapoor, wife of actor Sanjay Kapoor at her Bandra’s plush residence.

Shah Rukh Khan had dropped in to wish his Begum and also took Twitter to share his love for Gauri by writing “Happy Birthday to my wife Gauri. May you smile today, as much as you have made the family smile. Love and Happiness always…”

The high profile party was attended by who’s who from Bollywood, with the guest list including the names like Hrithik Roshan, Farah Khan, Zoya Akhtar, Karisma Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Rhea Pillai and Shweta Bachchan amongst others.

Chitrangada Singh learns to mend shoes for her next

While her contempraries are learing ballets and gymnastic, actress Chitrangada Singh puts her step forward to learn the art of shoe mending to play a female cobbler in her next film ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz‘.

Scripted by Kushan Nandy, film ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz‘ is an action-thriller set in the badlands of West Bengal. It stars Chitrangada is her deglam look with zero makeup. Her imperialistic acting skill with the blend of Bengali dusky features have garnered her this particular role. Before the film goes on floor, she is honning her shoe mending skills with the help of a real cobbler in Kolkata and is also learning Bengali dialect to mouth her dialogues.

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz‘ also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a pivotal role.

Bajirao Mastani‘ is a periodic love story of Maratha general Bajirao played by Ranveer Singh and a warrior princess Mastani played by Deepika Padukone.

Sonakshi Sinha’s brother Kush Sinha gets engaged

The low-profile ceremony of this arranged match was attended by 30 guests only, which included Yashwant Sinha, Pankaj Nihalani, Subhash Ghai and Venugopal Dhoot. Punam S. Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha and Luv Sinha played a perfect host of this grand eve; Shatrughan Sinha remained occupied in his close friends.

Parineeti Chopra visits army jawans in Jaisalmer

Parineeti Chopra recently experienced “life enriching” moment on her two days visit to Indian army jawans camp in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

The actress visited the borders to host a special TV episode on the lives of these brave hearted soldiers. She was so impressed and inspired by them, that she took Twitter to address their courage by writing “What an honour to spend time with the jawans.”

Further she tweeted, “It’s been a life enriching experience for me and my team, we never realise the difficulties faced by the Indian army to keep us safe. Living in the desert and braving the heat, they live a gruelling life away from their families just to keep all of us secure.”

Parineeti posed for pictures with these army officials and also learned rifle shooting during her stay.

Bollywood does free promotion for MAMI 2014

This year Mumbai Film Festival has got an unconditional support from Bollywood. As, first of all the film industry raised funds to back the prestigious film fest and now they are back to support it by shooting free of cost promotional video campaign for the upcoming Mumbai Film Festival 2014.

Creative advisor Shakun Batra managed to get the young stars Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra, Huma Qureshi and Imran Khan on the board, along with the prominent filmmakers Imtiaz Ali and Rajkumar Hirani. The promo features these B-Town dwellers emphasizing the need to keep MAMI alive in the city and share stories about why the annual cinema celebration means so much to them.

The initiative grounded by Anupama Chopra, will be directed by the National award winning directors Satyanshu and Devyanshu Singh.

MAMI 2014 will begin in Mumbai from October 14 onwards.

Sridevi pays a surprise visit to Tabu’s house
