Q: What is IP Spoofing or IP Address Spoofing?
A: IP Spoofing is the method of concealing identity about the origin of information sent. It is done by creating IP Packets with bogus IP addresses. In performance testing, IP Spoofing is very important. It is used in situations where the target application does not allow multiple requests from same ip address or the target application processes request in a different manner depending upon the ip address from where the request was sent. IP Spoofing is also used to make performance test simulation real world like because in real world situation users send requests from different ip addresses and that simulation can be done using IP Spoofing.
