October 16, 2014 0

Filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia is keen to cast Rani Mukherjee in mafia kingpin Dawood Ibrahim’s younger sister Haseena Parkar’s role in his next film.

Haseena came into limelight after her husband Ismail Parkar was shot to death by Dawood’s rival gang operated by Arun Gawali. For which the don took revenge by appointing his top lieutenant to kill the murderers in the infamous J.J. Hospital shootout. Later, Haseena moved in to Mumbai’s Nagpada area and became the godmother to many.

Amazed by Haseena’s life, Apoorva decided to make a biopic on her. He was constantly in touch with her and her family to understand the complexities of her life. Until, she passed away this year on July 4 with a heart attack. Now, Apoorva is done with the screenplay and wants to cast Rani in Haseena’s larger than life role as he thinks she can pull off the character with confidence and aplomb.

As per the sources, Rani is likely to give her nod to Apoorva’s proposal after going through the entire script. Also, she doesn’t mind to put on weight to suit Haseena’s resemblance.
