What happened to Zee editors Sudhir Chaudhary and Sameer Ahluwalia is no less than real life entertainment for the general public. Nobody ever thought top national news makers would themselves become a News. ‘Shikari Khud Shikar Ho Gaya’ is the most apt expression for what happened to Sudhir Chaudhary and Sameer Ahluwalia. They are now in jail for more than 15 days and Naveen Jindal is roaming free.
Looking at the whole scenario, anybody could see that both the parties are corrupt. Jindal Steel is not only involved in Coal scam but also tried to buy journalists, on the other hand Zee editors tried to cash on the news stories they had at hand by black mailing Jindal Steel and forcing them to buy more advertising on Zee channels. Zee editors have brought shame to the profession of Journalism. Moral duty of a Journalist is to bring the truth out and not sell the News.
People like me are wondering how could government agencies work so fast on the complaint of Naveen Jindal and make immediate arrests whereas no arrests have been made in Coal scam yet. This indicates that government agencies are being used for personal vendetta.
On a whole it shows that there are no ethics left in Indian politics or Journalism. Everything is driven by money. I wonder where would this attitude take our country?
