Horror films adorned with sci-fi is nothing new in India now and it’s the time to come up with something different. Hemant Madhukar, the son of eminent Telugu filmmaker K Baburao, is soon arriving with his directorial ‘Mumbai 125 KM‘. The interesting thing is that Madhukar is planning to make India’s first silent horror film, ‘Silence’.
Produced by Mani Sharma and Hemant Madhukar, ‘Mumbai 125 KM‘ features Karanvir Bohra and Veena Malik in the lead roles. ‘Mumbai 125 KM‘ is also said to contain high-end stereoscopic 3D technology and VFX that were seen in Hollywood venture ‘Spider-Man 2’. ‘Mumbai 125 KM‘ will release on September 26.
Madhukar’s next, ‘Silence’ is expected to hit the floors in October and the filmmaker will soon finalize its star cast too. The director Madhukar is optimistic about the highly powerful horror content in the film ‘Silence’ and he says it will spark off fear. Apart from this, he is also working on a rom-com as a part of a three-film deal with a production house.
Director Vishal Bhardwaj is a firm believer of Shakespearian era. According to him, even though the eternal writer would have pen the stories 400 years ago, but the subjected human conflict still exists in today’s time. This makes Vishal to adapt his famous staged drama into a full-fledged Bollywood film.
With reference to his earlier films ‘Maqbool‘ and ‘Omkara‘ adapted from Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ and ‘Othello’ respectively, this time Vishal is presenting ‘Haider‘ which is his version of revenge-drama ‘Hamlet’.
Vishal has adapted Shakespeare’s most toughest play, casting Shahid Kapoor in the lead role of Haider. He has made Bollywood’s heartthrob go complete bald from long hairs, which is a part of his emotional journey. As per the reports, he starts being a simple student in search of his father and ends up being a mad killer seeking revenge.

The forthcoming directorial of Farah Khan, ‘Happy New Year‘ is creating waves in the town much before the release of it. The star-studded extravaganza has become the favorite piece of gossip columns over its juicy news updates. The team of ‘Happy New Year‘ launched its three-minute theatrical trailer on the Independence Day, as the film is said to be about patriotism to some extent with the song “Indiawale”.
The lead star Shah Rukh Khan said that the movie is regarding the “biggest heist” and the actor dedicated the movie to all the losers. SRK further added that ‘Happy New Year‘ revolves around goodness, hope and belief. The film is about six losers, who are on a mission to change their destiny, as told by Khan. The entire team launched the trailer with great enthusiasm and decoded the meaning of ‘Freedom’ in their terms. Let’s see how the meaning of “Freedom” got decoded by the stars.
Deepika Padukone decoded freedom as “Just being able to express yourself without worrying about anything is freedom”. Abhishek Bachchan said “Freedom means do what you want to do and live your life on your terms and conditions”.
The music composer Vishal Dadlani revealed his idea of freedom as “sense of responsibility” and his partner Shekhar Ravjiani interpreted the concept of freedom as “We will feel free when we will respect women and there will be no division on the basis of religion”. The senior star Jackie Shroff said “Respect freedom fighters… create space for them in your mind”. The fresh entry Vivaan Shah decoded freedom as “Freedom means being yourself” and as an actor, he also quipped that freedom means to feel free when it is “pack up” time on the sets.

New Delhi, Aug. 16 (ANI): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Majid Memon today said that he was not in support of the Antony Committee Report which reportedly gave a clean chit to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for the party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections. Memon said that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi must take responsibility for the party’s poll debacle. “The way this report has come out, I am not fully in support of it, because to absolve Rahul Gandhi of all blame is not right. The Congress president and vice-president must take responsibility of the defeat,” Memon told ANI.
The Independence Day release ‘Singham Returns‘ was bound to allure huge number of crowds at the theaters with its blitzkrieg promotion, strong star cast and mind-blowing action sequences depicted in the trailer. The film featured Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor in the lead and with the stellar performance, Ajay is all set to challenge Khan monopoly at the box office. The larger-than-life action stunts being a Rohit Shetty directorial, add an extra edge to the film. The movie grabbed mixed reviews from the critics.
Talking about its first day box office collection, ‘Singham Returns‘ painted a colourful picture by showing a great occupancy in the regions like Mumbai, central India, Gujarat, UP, north and Bihar. It was slightly low in Mysore and West Bengal, but by taking into account the overall performance of this action-affair at the ticket window, the film must rake in 26 to 26.50 crore nett approximately on its opening day, as per the early box office prediction. ‘Singham Returns‘ is anticipated to go hand in hand with the recent super hit ‘Kick‘ that collected 26.50 crore nett on its first day of release.
The performance of ‘Singham Returns‘ on Saturday will hint at its performance over the first weekend of its release.

Amano’s trip comes ahead of an Aug. 25 deadline for Iran to provide some information relevant to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s inquiry into what it calls the possible military dimensions of the country’s disputed nuclear programme. Iran dismisses Western accusations that it has been working to develop a capability to assemble atomic weapons. The visit – announced by the IAEA on Friday – will be Amano’s first to Iran this year and the third since 2012.

With stunning underwater footage, the film that airs on Friday on the online streaming service Netflix and in selected U.S. theaters, shows the devastating impact of pollution, overfishing and climate change on the oceans through the eyes of the renowned scientist, explorer and author who has been charting it for decades. “I really wanted to make people aware of this woman and her life because she is such an incredible person and has dedicated so much of her life towards the ocean,” Fisher Stevens, 50, who co-directed the film with Robert Nixon, said in an interview. Stevens, an actor and producer of the 2010 Oscar-winning dolphin-hunting documentary “The Cove,” met Earle, 78, while filming her trip to the Galapagos Islands with scientists, explorers and policy makers more than four years ago.
